#### About the event

EUROPEAN ROTORS 2026 is scheduled for 30 November–3 December at EUREXPO Lyon. The exhibition opens on 1 December; the first day of the overall period covers other parts of the business programme.

The event focuses on vertical flight: helicopters, their operation, technical support and professional industry issues. This sector serves routes and tasks where a conventional runway is unavailable or unsuitable. Manufacturers and operators consider the aircraft together with its actual applications.

Helicopter operations differ by purpose: passenger services, external loads and remote landing sites impose different requirements on aircraft and crews. A specialist gathering helps connect these tasks with the technology. The event appears in both monthly filters; the exhibition runs on 1–3 December.

### MEBAA Show 2026

8–10 December 2026

Dubai, UAE

A Middle Eastern business aviation exhibition with a static display and a programme of meetings for manufacturers, operators and industry professionals.

<details>

<summary>Learn more

</summary>

#### Business aviation in the Middle East

MEBAA Show takes place at DWC, bringing together aircraft, equipment, operators and service companies. The static display lets visitors assess the aircraft as a workspace: cabin entry, the aisle, rest areas and baggage capacity. Relate the inspection to the intended operating task.

For a business visit, arrange meetings with manufacturers and service specialists in advance. The airport’s location relative to the city matters both for visiting the show and for arriving by private aircraft. The exhibition programme is separate from a charter flight schedule: parking, ground handling and required permissions must be arranged independently.

A regional exhibition offers a chance to study both the aircraft and support for its future operation. Owners can discuss maintenance availability along their usual routes, spare parts and ground services. These questions complement the impression made by the interior.

### NBAA Leadership Conference 2027

8–10 February 2027

Tucson, USA

A conference on leading business aviation teams, professional development and the organisation of flight departments.

<details>

<summary>Learn more

</summary>

#### Teams and flight department leadership

This conference focuses on people and organising work rather than inspecting aircraft on the apron. A flight department manager coordinates flight planning, crew training, maintenance and aircraft users’ requests. The quality of this coordination becomes apparent when the team responds to a changed task.

Prepare a few practical questions: how is information handed over between shifts, how is workload discussed, and who approves schedule changes? This connects the visit with your own team’s needs. The format is particularly relevant to managers, future leaders and specialists organising aviation operations.

Managers need to recognise when one department’s decision affects another. A change to the passenger assignment may require a new fuel calculation, maintenance arrangements and crew schedule. Examining these connections helps establish clear information flows and responsibilities.

#### About the event

NAIS is scheduled for 10–11 February 2027 at Crocus Expo. The exhibition focuses on civil aviation infrastructure, airports and technologies supporting air transport.

Airport work combines ground handling, passenger flow management, technical systems and airline coordination. An aviation exhibition can therefore focus on the equipment and processes enabling flights as well as on aircraft themselves.

An airport connects air routes with ground transport and passenger services. Its equipment and organisation affect aircraft turnaround times and stand use. The exhibition’s theme presents an airport as a set of coordinated services and shows how technical and management professions support the crew’s work.

#### About the event

The NBAA Schedulers &amp; Dispatchers Conference is scheduled for 22–24 February 2027 in Fort Lauderdale. Its audience works in business aviation flight planning and support.

Preparing a business flight involves coordinating times, routes, airports and ground services. Schedulers and operational support specialists connect clients’ requirements with aircraft and crew capabilities. Their work bridges the flying programme and the organisation of transport on the ground.

The flexibility of business aviation means routes and departure times may be determined by an individual customer’s needs. This requires coordination between services and a constant exchange of information. The professional conference introduces the people who ensure that coordination before flights, during intermediate stops and after arrival.

#### About the event

Aircraft Interiors Expo is scheduled for 6–8 April 2027 in Hamburg. The exhibition focuses on passenger aircraft cabins, including interior equipment, seating layouts, service systems and other air transport solutions.

An aircraft’s exterior does not fully determine the passenger experience. Seating layout, baggage space, connectivity and cabin crew workflows depend on the chosen interior. Airlines assess these solutions against capacity, equipment weight and route requirements.

Cabin design connects engineers, designers and airline departments. Layout changes affect seat count, equipment weight, aisle access and service organisation. The exhibition presents the passenger cabin as part of a transport system, where comfort and operating needs must align with the aircraft’s design.

#### About the event

MRO Americas is scheduled for 13–15 April 2027 in Orlando. The exhibition and business programme focus on aircraft maintenance, repair and technical support.

An aircraft remains a useful means of transport only with a system supporting its operation. Repair companies, parts suppliers, airlines and engineers manage component lives, maintenance planning and equipment restoration. Their work determines whether the aircraft is available for its next flight.

Technical support combines production facilities, spare parts and information about aircraft condition. Understanding this system explains why aircraft operations continue after landing. The exhibition allows visitors to compare airline work with the capabilities of repair businesses and suppliers serving different aircraft families.

#### General aviation in one place

AERO Friedrichshafen covers many areas of general aviation: gliders, light aircraft, helicopters, business aviation and equipment. Visitors can compare not just brands but ways of using aircraft. A trainer, a personal aircraft and a corporate jet serve different purposes and need different infrastructure.

The venue is next to Friedrichshafen Airport. Allow time for both the halls and the static display, and arrange meetings about models of interest in advance. Assess new technologies against the project’s confirmed stage: a prototype demonstration and a certified aircraft represent different stages of development.

A student pilot can use the show to explore training aircraft and courses, while an experienced owner can discuss equipment and support. Define your objective first, then identify the relevant parts of the large exhibition.

#### Le Bourget: industry and aviation history

The Paris Air Show brings together civil aviation, defence equipment and space technology. A single event features finished aircraft, components and projects still in development. Distinguish between production products, test aircraft and announced concepts when exploring the exhibition.

The 2027 edition marks the centenary of Lindbergh’s arrival at Le Bourget. This historical link shows the path from a solo ocean crossing to today’s international aviation industry. When planning a visit, consider the format of the selected day and admission requirements: a professional meeting and a flying display call for different schedules.

At an industrial exhibition, distinguish confirmed specifications from development targets. First flight, certification and delivery to a customer are separate milestones. This is especially useful when exploring new aircraft types and technologies for future air transport.

#### Flying programme and static display

The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford introduces visitors to aviation through flying demonstrations and ground displays. The static display is ideal for inspecting details, while the flying programme shows aircraft in the air. The two offer complementary ways to explore an aircraft.

Check the participants and display sequence for your chosen day. Weather may affect demonstration flights. Photographers should consider lighting and visitor routes; families should allow for travel time and the length of their stay outdoors.

A photograph of an aircraft in flight reveals its shape but not all its operational capabilities. Ground inspection and the programme add context. Preserve exact variant names: similar-looking aircraft can have different equipment and purposes.

</summary>

#### A gathering of pilots, builders and aviation enthusiasts

AirVenture in Oshkosh combines an air show, an exhibition and a gathering of the aviation community. Its variety is a particular attraction: historical aircraft, modern machines and homebuilt projects appear side by side. The format presents aviation as something people practise, beyond a catalogue of manufacturers.

The event lasts a week and crosses from July into August, so it appears in both monthly filters. Choose topics and days, then compare them with the published programme. Arriving in your own aircraft requires separate study of current air traffic procedures; an admission ticket does not replace flight preparation.

The variety of aircraft lets visitors compare uses including training, personal travel, historical restoration and amateur construction. Choose a topic and explore it through several formats, allowing time to move between areas of the large venue.

#### The event and its significance

The Montgolfier brothers demonstrated the ascent of a large balloon at Annonay on 4 June 1783. With nobody aboard, it showed that heated air inside an envelope could lift the structure off the ground.

Ballooning uses atmospheric buoyancy: an envelope containing lighter material displaces surrounding air. This differs from an aeroplane, whose wing generates lift through airflow. Balloon history is therefore a distinct branch of flight development.

The public demonstration preceded other experiments that year, including an animal flight and the first free human flight. These stages should not be combined into one date. June’s event demonstrated the principle at large scale and prepared the way for passenger trials.

<details>

<summary>Learn more

</summary>

#### Free flight before the aeroplane era

The Montgolfier brothers’ human balloon flight belongs to lighter-than-air flight. Heated air inside the envelope produces lift rather than airflow over a wing. This important ballooning milestone is distinct from the arrival of the controllable powered aeroplane.

Free flight means the absence of a restraining tether. It does not mean pilots could choose direction like an aeroplane crew: a balloon’s movement follows the wind. This distinction clarifies the sequence of flight development without confusing physical principles.

Ballooning and aviation developed using different sources of lift. A balloon’s envelope and air temperature solve a different problem from an aircraft wing. Comparing the principles places early achievements in a coherent history of flight.

#### The event and its significance

Otto Lilienthal, a researcher and practitioner of gliding flight, was born on 23 May 1848. His experiments helped move aviation towards systematic testing of full-size aircraft with a person aboard.

Lilienthal studied lift and wing shape, comparing calculations with observations. In gliding flight, the pilot shifted his body to control the aircraft’s attitude. This method had limitations, but the accumulated experience mattered to later researchers.

Photographs made Lilienthal’s gliding visible to a broad public. His work formed part of the scientific and practical context studied by the Wright brothers. His birthday presents early aviation as successive research, with new solutions building on predecessors’ results and mistakes.

Wilbur Wright was born on 16 April 1867. With his younger brother Orville, he turned research into gliders, aerodynamics and control into a programme to develop a controllable powered aircraft.

The brothers did more than assemble an aircraft from existing calculations. They tested wing shapes, conducted experiments and progressively refined roll, pitch and directional control. Workshop experience connected making components with engineering observations.

Wilbur’s birthday recalls the shared nature of the 1903 achievement. Orville, who was at the controls, is usually associated with the first successful flight, but both brothers developed the Flyer. Its photograph illustrates their joint work and connects biography with technological history.

#### The life of one of the Flyer’s creators

Orville’s birthday commemorates not only the pilot of the first December flight but a participant in years of engineering work. With Wilbur, he studied wings, control and thrust. These connected problems required tests with models and full-size aircraft.

Orville lived until 1948, witnessing aviation’s transition from early experiments to jet aircraft. His life spans these eras. A birthday commemorates a person, whereas the first flight’s anniversary marks a specific technical event.

The identity of the first pilot and authorship of the aircraft are different historical questions. Orville made the first powered flight that day, but the aircraft resulted from both brothers’ work. Precise wording preserves each contribution and avoids an oversimplified single-inventor account.

#### The event and its significance

Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky was born on 25 May 1889. His career connected large multi-engine aeroplanes, flying boats and practical helicopter development; his contribution extends beyond a single aircraft layout.

Sikorsky addressed different transport tasks throughout his career. Multi-engine aircraft expanded passenger and cargo capacity, while helicopters opened access to sites without runways. Each new layout required separate study of stability and control.

The calendar connects his birthday with VS-300 tests in 1939 and 1940. This sequence reveals a long experimental process rather than an instantly complete invention. His history links an engineering idea, practical tests and subsequent applications.

#### The event and its significance

The Zeppelin LZ 1 airship first rose above Lake Constance on 2 July 1900. Its rigid framework marked the beginning of a new direction in controlled lighter-than-air flight.

Unlike a free balloon, the airship had engines and directional controls. A rigid framework maintained its large hull’s shape around gas volumes. Ground infrastructure, hangar dimensions and handling arrangements mattered as much as airborne behaviour.

The LZ 1’s first flight was an experimental stage followed by continued refinement. Later Zeppelins grew larger and flew long routes. The July date marks the origins of this development and recalls aviation history’s different ways of producing lift.

#### Wing, controls and engine in one aircraft

Four flights on 17 December 1903 demonstrated that the powered Flyer worked. Orville made the first flight; Wilbur also flew that day. The identity of the first pilot and shared authorship of the aircraft describe different aspects of the event.

The brief flight began rather than completed the development of practical aviation. The Wrights continued testing and improving their aircraft. Connect the anniversary with earlier gliders, control research and subsequent repeatable, longer flights.

Control was a key challenge: generating thrust and lift was insufficient without maintaining the aircraft’s intended attitude. Glider tests and the brothers’ research brought these issues together. The Flyer is an integrated engineering achievement as well as an early powered aircraft.

#### An aeroplane crosses a water boundary

The English Channel flight on 25 July 1909 demonstrated an early aircraft’s practical capabilities beyond short airfield flights. For a small aircraft, the crossing posed major reliability and navigation challenges. Its significance reflects conditions in the early twentieth century.

The Blériot XI was a monoplane, and Blériot combined the roles of designer and pilot. Success drew attention to his aircraft and manufacturing. A surviving aircraft with the same name need not be the one used for the crossing: every airframe has its own museum and operational history.

The crossing publicly demonstrated an early design’s use over distance. It combined engine operation, handling and route selection over water. Aircraft details explain the achievement in its own era rather than through modern transport capabilities.

Pyotr Nesterov performed a complete vertical loop in a Nieuport aircraft on 9 September 1913. The date uses the Gregorian calendar; in the old calendar it was 27 August.

The manoeuvre advanced aerobatics, showing that an aircraft could follow a vertical path with the right combination of speed and control. It expanded early aviation’s understanding beyond ordinary level flight.

A loop requires attention to load factor, energy and structural limits. The historical experiment is not an instruction to repeat it independently: modern aerobatics require specialised training and approved aircraft. The entry recognises Nesterov’s research into controlled motion and his founding role in aerobatic practice.

#### The event and its significance

On 1 January 1914, a Benoist XIV flying boat opened a scheduled passenger route between St Petersburg and Tampa in Florida. Tony Jannus piloted the first flight; crossing the bay greatly shortened the journey compared with travelling overland.

This was an early attempt to turn a technical demonstration into a transport service with a timetable and a paid seat. The small aircraft carried one passenger beside the pilot, so its economics and scale differed greatly from modern airlines.

The achievement lay in organising transport itself. Air transport needed a route, regular service, ticket sales and trust in the crew. The short Florida route illustrates the practical tasks with which passenger aviation began.

Coleman’s licence followed training in France, where she travelled because of barriers in the United States. The date marks a verified qualification rather than the start of all her public flights. Later flying and displays formed a separate career stage.

The event matters to professional history: the technical ability to fly does not guarantee equal access to training. Coleman made a woman pilot’s path visible to people previously denied that opportunity. Her plan for a flying school connected personal achievement with widening others’ access to aviation.

A professional credential confirms a particular training stage. Coleman’s story also shows how access to education shapes entry into a profession. Modern requirements vary by country, so her historical licence does not describe today’s path to pilot qualification.

#### A solo nonstop route

Spirit of St. Louis’s arrival at Le Bourget completed the New York–Paris route. The achievement combined solo piloting with no intermediate landing. Earlier ocean flights had different conditions, so precise wording preserves the record’s meaning.

A long-range aircraft required fuel, weight and the pilot’s capabilities to be balanced. The flight illustrates a machine adapted to one task. It attracted public attention to aviation, but a future scheduled network still needed infrastructure, maintenance and many trained crews.

A solo long-distance route reveals the relationship between technology and human preparation. Fuel reserves, navigation and prolonged flying all form part of the task. Study the achievement in the conditions of its era rather than comparing it directly with a modern airline timetable.

#### Confirmed supersonic flight

Yeager’s Bell X-1 flight on 14 October 1947 confirmed crewed supersonic flight in level flight. It formed part of a research programme rather than an ordinary transport service. The specialised aircraft provided data on flight behaviour.

Near the speed of sound, airflow, drag and handling change. A test pilot works with engineers so observations can inform design development. The anniversary connects a famous name with a specific aircraft and the exploration of new flight conditions.

Research flights yield data and verified operating conditions rather than passenger transport. Pilot, aircraft and date form a connected historical fact. Examining the programme reveals the team that prepared and evaluated the flight.

#### The event and its significance

The giant Hughes H-4 Hercules flying boat made its first and only flight on 2 November 1947. The brief flight above Long Beach harbour demonstrated that the enormous aircraft could lift off the water.

The wartime project proposed carrying large numbers of people and cargo across the ocean. Restrictions on strategic materials influenced the wooden structure. By completion, the original conditions and transport need had changed.

The H-4 remained a unique experimental aircraft and never entered scheduled transport. Demonstrating that an aircraft can fly differs from creating a practical transport system. The surviving aircraft shows the engineering task’s scale; the date marks an actual flight beyond the familiar Spruce Goose nickname.

#### The event and its significance

The de Havilland Comet entered commercial service with BOAC on 2 May 1952. The first jet airliner in scheduled service offered a new level of speed compared with contemporary piston-engine aircraft.

Engines were installed in the wing roots, while a pressurised cabin allowed high-altitude operation. Entry into service was a major technological event, but early Comets later faced fatigue-strength problems and intensive investigation of structural behaviour under repeated loads.

The programme is both a transport and engineering milestone. Its lessons influenced pressurised-fuselage requirements and testing. The photograph shows a later Comet variant, illustrating the family rather than the aircraft of the first commercial flight in 1952.

#### A woman pilot in high-speed aviation

Cochran’s flight on 18 May 1953 marks a specific milestone in women pilots’ use of jet aircraft. It forms part of a broader record-setting career. Understanding the achievement requires attention to training, aircraft choice and flight conditions beyond the headline title.

The speed of sound varies with atmospheric conditions, making Mach number useful for describing the flight regime. A supersonic record does not establish readiness for ordinary passenger services. The anniversary connects a personal biography with speed research and later aviation developments.

Cochran’s career combined training, competition and exploring new aircraft capabilities. The supersonic milestone is one specific achievement rather than a complete account of her work. Further reading should distinguish her records and aircraft by year.

#### Pilot training and an orbital mission

Gagarin’s first flight combined human preparation with a spacecraft and ground support system. Flying experience helped him master the technology, but Vostok required separate training. Its trajectory, speed and method of return distinguished the mission from high-altitude aircraft flight.

12 April marks the historical event that became the basis of Cosmonautics Day. Separate Gagarin’s biography, the spacecraft’s design and the work of the wider team when studying it. The anniversary then illustrates both the first person in space and the professional path to the mission.

Aviation and space topics intersect through people’s biographies and training. Orbital trajectories, spacecraft and return methods still need separate explanations. This distinction recognises the contribution of flying experience without confusing aircraft flight with spaceflight.

#### The first flight of a large new design

The Boeing 747’s first flight began its airborne evaluation. At this stage, the crew study the aircraft’s behaviour within prescribed limits rather than operating an ordinary passenger flight. Their observations are compared with calculations and ground tests.

Aircraft size affects structural loads, system installation, handling and interaction with the airfield. The 747’s history shows that increasing capacity is more than scaling up a smaller aircraft. The complete transport system needed systematic assessment before entering service.

Flight testing gradually expands the verified operating envelope. Early tests examine basic responses; later ones investigate other conditions and loads. A successful first flight begins a substantial programme of work rather than confirming every specification at once.

#### From testing to passenger transport

Commercial service takes an aircraft from development into real transport work. A large widebody airliner needs not only an airworthy aircraft and trained crew but also ground equipment, passenger boarding, baggage handling and maintenance arrangements.

The Boeing 747 changed the scale of long-haul transport through its spacious widebody cabin. Entry into service and the first test flight are distinct milestones. Between them, the aircraft, crews and infrastructure must be prepared for repeatable passenger operations.

A commercial flight requires a repeatable process: preflight preparation, release to service and maintenance after landing. Entry into service therefore reflects both the design and the airline’s readiness to use it in a normal timetable.

#### The event and its significance

The Il-76 first flew on 25 March 1971. The four-engine jet transport expanded the ability to carry heavy cargo, equipment and large groups of people.

A high-mounted wing kept the cargo compartment clear, and a tail ramp provided loading access. Multi-wheel landing gear distributed loads on airfield surfaces. Operating from varied sites and preparing cargo quickly are practical priorities for a transport aircraft.

The Il-76 produced specialised variants, with later generations changing engines, wings and equipment. A modern Il-76MD-90A photograph therefore illustrates the family rather than the original prototype. The date marks the original aircraft’s first flight and the start of its test programme.

The Airbus A300 first flew on 28 October 1972. The first twin-engine widebody passenger aircraft became the new European manufacturer’s initial transport platform.

Two aisles and a large fuselage diameter provided substantial capacity, while two engines offered a different approach to large-airliner economics. The project drew on the manufacturing cooperation established by the 1969 agreement and required coordination between industrial sites.

First flight evaluated the A300 concept, followed by further tests and preparation for commercial service. Later Airbus programmes covered different sizes and ranges, but the family’s origins lie in the A300. The October date complements the original international agreement’s organisational milestone.

#### The event and its significance

Scheduled Concorde passenger services began on 21 January 1976. British Airways opened a route from London to Bahrain, while Air France began flying from Paris to Rio de Janeiro via Dakar.

The supersonic airliner combined a thin delta wing, four engines and an unusual fuel-management system. At high speed, fuel was transferred between tanks to align the centre of gravity with changing aerodynamic forces. A drooping nose improved crew visibility during takeoff and landing.

Entry into service was a separate milestone after the prototype’s first flight in 1969. Years of refinement, certification and infrastructure preparation separated the test aircraft from a scheduled flight. Concorde demonstrated supersonic passenger flight while revealing its complex operating economics.

#### The event and its significance

Gossamer Condor, flown by Bryan Allen, completed the course required for the Kremer Prize on 23 August 1977. Paul MacCready’s aircraft was powered by the pilot’s muscles through a pedal mechanism.

The achievement was controlled flight along a specified course, not the first pedal-powered lift-off. Limited available power demanded an extremely light structure, a large wing and carefully chosen speed. Every additional weight reduced capability.

The project demonstrated efficiency with very little available energy. It showed the value of successive design changes based on experiments. The calendar preserves the precise achievement rather than incorrectly describing it as history’s first human-powered aircraft.

The Double Eagle II crew completed the first Atlantic balloon crossing on 17 August 1978. Ben Abruzzo, Maxie Anderson and Larry Newman landed in France after departing from Maine.

The balloon used helium, with its route shaped by air currents and altitude selection. Planning differed from an aeroplane route: the crew could not simply set a powered heading. Ballast and gas supplies, weather and prolonged time in the gondola became decisive.

The record concluded years of attempts at this form of crossing. The surviving gondola shows the crew’s working space. August’s date marks completion; departure was earlier. The achievement is a distinct ballooning milestone among aviation records.

#### A double-deck aircraft begins flight testing

The A380’s first flight on 27 April 2005 marked a stage in evaluating a large double-deck airliner. Passenger capacity is linked to weight, systems, ground handling and boarding. The aircraft is assessed as an integrated set of solutions rather than simply a large wing and engines.

Airlines use different A380 cabin layouts. The manufacturer provides the platform, while the carrier chooses seat numbers and travel classes. The first flight concerns the aircraft type’s development; an individual passenger aircraft’s configuration concerns a particular airline’s operation.

The double-deck layout affects boarding, servicing and airport stand arrangements. A large new type therefore forms part of transport infrastructure. Each aircraft’s capacity depends on its airline’s layout rather than one universal A380 configuration.

Russia celebrates Civil Aviation Workers’ Day on 9 February. The date is linked to the creation of the Civil Aviation Council in 1923; the professional holiday was established in 2013.

Civil aviation includes far more professions than the crew visible to passengers. Flight preparation involves checking aircraft condition, planning routes, supplying fuel, handling baggage and airport services. Controllers maintain the established flow of traffic in the air and at the airfield.

The anniversary presents the system as a whole: dependable services require coordinated work by people with different training. Compare the duties of pilots, engineers, cabin crew and controllers, and how their decisions connect throughout a flight.

World Pilots’ Day is observed on 26 April. The professional occasion honours the people who fly aircraft and highlights training, responsibility and teamwork in the cockpit.

Flying careers include scheduled passenger transport, business aviation, helicopter operations, testing and instruction. Specific requirements depend on aircraft type, task and the aviation system in which a pilot works. Discipline, training and understanding technical limitations remain common.

Modern crews manage complex automation as well as the flight path. They check systems, assess changing weather and coordinate with ground services. The anniversary highlights aviation’s human side and a professional culture in which concerns can be raised promptly.

The International Day of the Air Traffic Controller is observed on 20 October. The date marks IFATCA’s foundation in 1961 and honours the professionals providing air traffic services.

Control work is divided by areas and tasks: aerodrome traffic, approaches and en-route flight require different views of the situation. Specialists use established procedures, communications and surveillance, transferring service between adjacent units.

This part of a flight is usually invisible to passengers, although it connects individual aircraft into one system. The anniversary introduces a profession requiring precise language, sustained attention and coordination. Automation changes the tools but preserves the value of training and situational understanding.

#### Aviation connects people

International Civil Aviation Day recognises air transport and international cooperation. A flight connects airports, crews, air traffic services, maintenance organisations and rules. A passenger ticket is the visible part of a much larger collaborative system.

The annual date is not tied to a new aircraft or an exhibition. It offers a starting point for exploring careers, infrastructure and international aviation history. It returns every year, while an aircraft type’s first-flight year remains a fixed historical milestone.

Modern air transport depends on coordinated work by many professions. Crews work with controllers, maintenance and airport teams, and international routes connect different national systems. The day highlights people whose work often remains unseen during an ordinary passenger journey.

### Exhibition, conference and air show

An exhibition introduces aircraft, equipment and services. A conference focuses on professional issues. An air show presents aircraft in the air and on the ground. One event can combine several formats, so its name alone does not describe the whole visitor experience.

For a business visit, list your questions and arrange meetings. To explore aircraft, divide your time between the static display and flying programme. Inspecting a cabin reveals its actual dimensions, while published specifications help match an aircraft to a route.

### Upcoming events and historical dates

An upcoming event has specific start and end dates. A historical anniversary returns by day and month but retains its original year. The number on a first-flight entry is therefore not a future event date; “Every year” indicates an annual observance.

An event spanning a month boundary appears in both monthly filters. Select upcoming events or history, then refine the type. Search finds a city, person, aircraft or year without scrolling through the entire timeline.

### What to find out before visiting

Plan for the venue, admission on your chosen day and travel between event areas. Exhibition halls and the static display can be in different places. Published dates help with travel planning; participants, programmes and entry rules are clarified closer to the visit.

If you plan to arrive in your own aircraft, arrange the flight separately from your event visit. Parking, handling, permissions and air traffic procedures depend on the airport and your operation. An exhibition ticket does not automatically confirm an aircraft parking space.
