## Meaning of Airfoil

The cross-sectional shape of a lifting surface such as a wing.

### More about Airfoil

An aerofoil's curvature, thickness and other geometric features affect the airflow and resulting forces.

Its behaviour also depends on angle of attack, speed and surface condition. A section drawing alone does not describe the performance of the complete three-dimensional wing.
