## Meaning of Lateral Navigation

Lateral guidance along a planned route or published procedure.

### More about Lateral Navigation

LNAV concerns the horizontal path, such as following waypoints and connecting legs.

It does not by itself specify the aircraft's vertical profile. The meaning of a displayed mode or approach designation depends on the installed system and the procedure being used.
