## Meaning of Maintenance

Work performed to preserve or restore an aircraft's serviceable condition.

### More about Maintenance

Maintenance includes the inspections, servicing, repairs and other tasks required for the aircraft and its equipment.

The applicable manuals, intervals and authorisations determine how work is performed and recorded. A completed repair and a release to service are related steps with defined responsibilities, not interchangeable informal descriptions.
