An approved list specifying conditions for operation with certain equipment temporarily inoperative.

The Minimum Equipment List applies to a particular operator and aircraft configuration and includes limitations, procedures and repair intervals.

It does not permit arbitrary defects to be ignored. The crew and maintenance organisation assess the actual condition against the applicable provisions before release.
