## Meaning of Pilot in command

The pilot responsible for the aircraft's operation and the safety of the flight.

### More about Pilot in command

The pilot-in-command leads the crew's decisions about departure, continuation and diversion. Responsibility covers the flight as a whole.

In a multi-pilot crew, another pilot may physically fly the aircraft at a particular moment. Command responsibility is therefore different from being the pilot flying on every segment.
