## Meaning of Taxiway

An aerodrome route connecting runways, aprons and aircraft parking areas.

### More about Taxiway

Aircraft use taxiways to move between operational areas on the ground. Signs, markings and charts identify the route and relevant holding positions.

A taxiway is not a runway. Clearances and local instructions determine permitted movement, especially where a route crosses or enters a runway.
