History and features
The team’s official birthday is 5 April 1991. Its pilots initially flew the Su-27; their first overseas display took place in Poznań that August. The team appeared at the first MAKS air show in 1993. Joint formations with the Swifts, combining Sukhoi aircraft and MiG-29s, joined the programme in 2004.
The two Kubinka teams perform both separately and together. Their joint formation combines different aircraft types: heavy Sukhoi fighters and light MiG-29 fighters.
