Meaning of Weight
The gravitational force acting on an aircraft towards the Earth.

Mass is measured in kilograms or tonnes; weight, as a force, is measured in newtons. The two words are often used interchangeably in everyday language.
Flight planning accounts for the aircraft, people, cargo and fuel. Fuel burn reduces mass and weight, so takeoff and landing mass are calculated separately.
